The Catholic Church was not left behind when it came to bringing the people of this area to the light. The church has many followers in this area. This church formed a strong foundation seeing that it has many followers who practice the ways and teachings of the roman church. At the last day of the week, they come together to enjoy the Sunday mass in their local churches.
During some occasions, the local church is graced by the presence of parish priest. This is due to the fact that there are chosen people who take over when there is no priest available to serve that believers. This is a result of the unavailability of enough clergy men to serve the large congregation. The people who stand in for priests cannot serve some roles such as the Holy Communion. This is due to the fact that they are not ordained as priests.
The region has a number of Adventists. The Adventists were converted by the missionaries who also came to spread the word. Though they are fewer than Catholics, there are a number of the seventh day believers. The church could not have gained many followers as the Catholic Church was strongly rooted among the people.
The full gospel church of Kenya is also dominant here. This is a part of churches that broke of from the Roman Catholic practices and changed a few issue that they felt were not done accordingly. This has formed a great part on the influence of society.
The churches are many in the region, with there being other minor sects that are formed every waking day. Some centres that have been there for a long while have been of great influence to the society. This can be seen through various initiatives that have been established by the hand of the church.
The children home in this town was started by the full gospel back in the days. In the mid 1960s the home was aimed at giving a home to the kids that did not have parents. With the high numbers of HIV deaths in the region, such establishments have held in society together.

Most people here are affiliated to certain religious denomination, worship centres have been influential.
